The Final Blog
30th August 2010

Ok, I know I promised to do this Saturday night, but quite simply, after the 8 and a bit hour journey back, I fell asleep :) The end of camp was a fun one, with Harry's 14th Birthday party being a great success, pass the parcel, making outfits...

Interrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr CAMP!!!

Author: Jack Moss | Date: 22-05-2010

It has begun!

We arrived at 15:00 local time yesterday at Viersen-Dülken to begin the weekend of madness

Today the scouts took part in many on site activities from Archery to clay making, in the scorching sunshine , i hope its not too cold back home . Its a mere 25 degrees and all the scouts are catching a nice sun tan. dont worry MOST of them are wearing their lotions.

Tonight our dinner was Chicken supreme , some of which was obviously burnt (it being scout camp), and tomorrow we will wake to a traditional German Continental breakfast which we will need to take on board for our large hike, i hope we taught them their map skills!

We will update tomorrow evening,

Interrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr CAMP!

The Final Frontier

Morning All :)

Last day of camp, and we were still up early, or it seemed it at least! :)

We started off with a pedal cart race, which resulted in Amy's team being clear winners. Although, Harry wants me to mention that his team had the cart with a puncture. Personally I think they needed to pedal faster!

We've just finished packing, and tidying up in the Log Cabin, just waiting to start one of our final activities this morning, the Low Ropes course. Should be fun, then lunch and a special Easter activity and then finally I'm bringing them all home to you!

Speak to you all later.

A Busy Day 3 :)

Well evening everyone!

Firstly my apologies, this has been my first opportunity to blog today, whilst the Scouts are currently out playing a wide game in the woods of Broadstone Warren.

Last night, we had the Scouts provide the evening entertainment, which included songs, jokes and even an origami lesson which worked really well! We then had ghost stories from Pete, before a well earned nights sleep.

This morning started bright and early, with our first activities which were Climbing & Crate Stacking, everyone had a go including me. Great fun I should tell you! We then stopped for a hot dog lunch, and quickly popped out for a bit of Archery, where the ground was boggy enough if you stood still you'd start to sink!

A quick break then lead onto an Air Rifle shooting session, where everyone managed to hit target. We then headed back to the Cabin, donned our uniforms and walked down to the Chapel area, for a Scouts Own, a thought provoking activity, do they know who their friends are?

Then we gathered up into groups, where they are now out exploring Broadstone, for our two Young Leaders, who have managed to get "lost" ;)

I'll hopefully update later, after we've had our Camp Stew for tea.
