It's Arrived! - 22-08-2010

For fear of cursing it, it gives me great pleasure in announcing that the sunshine has finally arrived!

Firstly, my apologies for not blogging yesterday, we just had one busy day. As some of you may have seen, I updated on facebook that we spent yesterday at Poldark Mine. This was a great experience for them, going 150ft down in to an old tin mine, which was dark and damp, and proved that some of the scouts were bigger wusses than we'd of expected, however they all managed it.

When we got back, the Scouts went out to the village green to gain some practice for the football tournament taking place in the village today. We had a BBQ tea in the rain, and finished the night off with Film Night, and homemade popcorn.

Today has been a relaxed start, with a nice cooked breakfast.. About an hour and half ago, the Scouts walked those few yards across from me to the village green, where we've got 3 teams in the 5-a-side, and from the reports I'm getting from people walking back and forth, they're doing alright! This afternoon is going to be crabbing, and probably tin-cooking pancakes, but a very chilled afternoon!

This evening we've got a bit of a ceremony happening, but the scouts it involves arent aware of it yet, so this should be interesting!

Tomorrow we've got our day hike around the area, and then more exciting things planned throughout the week. Please also note, I'm sorry I cant get picutres on as promised, but the speed of the internet I'm receiving is almost slower than the ol' dial-up days!

Oh and one note, whilst the sun is out here, after the stories we heard from Kent, I hope it's raining hard there now :)
