Frames in place - at last

Unfortunately, we had a few problems with the contractor who came along to put in the original concrete bases for the steel uprights. Not only was the main contractor not aware of the work that this guy was doing, they also failed to make sure that Building Control, from the Council, were informed about what was going on. The result was that the pads did not meet the required standard and so began several months of difficult discussion on who was responsible and what was going to be done about it. Eventually, the main contractor agreed with us and the old pads were removed and new ones were put in place, this time with Building Control approval. Hooray!!! After all those months of no activity, we now had a start date. The site needed clearing of the old concrete and other bits and pieces which was carried out on a Sunday (Whoops. We have apologised to our neighbours). Then it was all systems go.
