1st Snodland Scout Group is a well established Group in the Malling District, Kent, South East England. We are the provision of Scouting for youth aged 6-14 in Snodland. We have 2 Beaver Colonies, 2 Cub Packs and a Scout Troop.
We are currently in our
75th year as a Group helping Young people in Snodland make the most out of life.

1st Snodland aims to fulfill a balanced programmes of activities based on the programme scheme set by
The Scout Association. One key aspect of the programme is Camping. The Group is very keen on experience, whether residential for a Beaver sleepover, or camping in a foreign country for the Scout Troop, the Group ensure's there is enough opportunity for every member to camp at least once a year.
The Group plays an active part in the community with one of it's key fundraising activities involving the collection of old newspapers and cardboard from around the town, and recycling them.
The Group also takes part in the annual Snodland Carnival, having won awards for the floats and walkers. In 2006, the Beacon Cub Pack came 1st with their walking party, and the Beaver colonies came 3rd with their float.
The Group's sections are actively run by volunteers. These volunteers become Leaders of the section, and you can learn more about them on the
Section pages. The sections are collective lead by the Group Scout Leader, Peter Byrne. Peter has been in the Group Scout Leader's role since 1995, and succeeded his father in the role. Peter has strong beliefs in Scouting, it's aims and values, and in his role as Group Scout Leader ensures we reach these beliefs in the sections.
